Newborn whitetail fawns are probably the most defenseless mammals in the forest. Thankfully, they have a spotted coat that blends well with wild flowers and other sprouting vegetation, and they have no scent. However, with the woods running wild with coyotes, foxes, and black bears, once a fawn is discovered, it’s helpless.
