Check out any current newspaper, magazine, or website search and you’ll find references to the SHOT Show. It’s been around since 1979, when it had less than 6,000 attendees. In a nutshell, it’s a launching point for new products in the hunting and shooting industry with a huge presence of tactical and law enforcement gear mixed in. About 60,000 people from the manufacturing and retail industry attend, along with more than 1,000 members of the press from around the globe.

Here’s a good example: The new Seek RevealXR extended-range handheld thermal-imaging camera and 300-Lumen LED light. This is a really important product for hunters who like to hunt evenings. The coyote population is so great across the country that any deer not physically recovered risks being devoured by coyotes. Sometimes even a very lethal shot allows a deer or other animal to run into thick cover, where you could normally recover it in the morning with little trouble. This new thermal camera will allow you to spot the still-warm animal in the dark. And it was introduced at, you guessed it, the SHOT Show.

At this year’s SHOT Show’s Industry Day at the Range, Seek Thermal announced the Seek RevealXR, an extended range version of its all-in-one thermal imager and high-performance LED light. Designed for outdoor environments, the RevealXR debuts in two models: TrueTimber Kanati Camo and pure Black. The TrueTimber Kanati Camo version was inspired by avid outdoorsman, professional hog hunter, and TV personality Brian “Pigman” Quaca who understands firsthand the need for thermal image tools in the field for scouting, tracking, and guaranteeing recovery, in addition to staying safe.
