An even better burger exists here in America though, and it’s not made of beef… it’s made of venison. While we have our secret tried-and-true basic venison burger recipe, there’s nothing wrong with experimenting with all of that meat in your freezer. These venison burger recipes have what it takes to impress family and friends and are guaranteed to be delicious.

 1. Venison Burger with Bleu Cheese and Crispy Shallots

Crispy, cheesy, buttery and delicious; you really can’t go wrong with this one. Bleu cheese and shallots are the perfect pair for your venison burger.

  • 650g venison mince
  • 5 tbsp double cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ½ tbsp flat leaved parsley, chopped
  • ½ tbsp chopped chives
  • 4 crushed juniper berries
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 200g blue cheese
  • 16 shallots

2. Classy Venison Cheeseburger

There’s nothing wrong with a dressed up classic! Here you can try using arugula instead of lettuce to dress your venison burger, but if you’re not a fan of that (or pickles) you can serve these up standard — with ketchup and mustard.

  • 1 dash worcestershire sauce (or more to taste)
