Positive stories are often few and far between in a culture that generally focuses on the latest negative news. That’s one reason stories like that of the National Wild Turkey Federation’s latest National Scholarship winner are so heartwarming. The NWTF recently awarded Elizabeth Renner of Crooks, S.D., with a jumbo scholarship check worth $10,000 during her school’s awards ceremony, and the recipient couldn’t have been more surprised or thankful.

“I am eternally grateful to the National Wild Turkey Federation as well as the local chapter of the Central Valley Struttin’ Gobblers for their support. Now I will not have to worry about finances as I pursue a degree in wildlife conservation and natural resources management. Thank you so much for helping me to achieve my dreams.”

Renner was chosen as the recipient of the national scholarship from hundreds of entrants nationwide. She aspires to major in wildlife management at Augustana College.
