Trap, Release, and Backpack

Wild turkeys are among nature’s most elusive creatures, making it difficult to learn where they nest, how much they travel, and the identities of their most lethal predators. Fortunately humans can be pretty sneaky as well; this group of Texas biologists trap, band, and harness wild turkeys with a special backpack that contains a radio transmitter, allowing them to observe bird movements over time. Check out the action in this interesting video from Texas Parks and Wildlife.
